What about doing Scrum at home?

I’ve just attended an agile course so I can become a trainer for our directorate. In the course it got me thinking. People use a simplified version of kanban in various ways in their personal lives, so what about adopting more scrum techniques in my personal life.

We already have a daily catchup mainly focused on gratitude. We go around the dinner table and ask what was the best part of your day today or what made you happy?

What about if we added what did you achieve today for the family and what will you do for the family tomorrow? And how can we help each other?

I think it will be a good step in keeping us working together and thinking of each other.

Maybe then I can incorporate a monthly planning session, backlog (we already have this for the big projects) and a monthly retrospective.

I guess that’s something for the first retrospective;-)
